Women’s right to safe and legal abortion is under constant attack all over the world. Although the end of 2020 saw abortion legalized in Argentina, we also saw Polish women take to the streets in the middle of a pandemic to protest the governments’ near-total ban on abortion, and the situation for women in need of an abortion in the U.S. is not improving How does the international women’s liberation movement work for the right to legal abortion? We speak with activists and partners from Poland and USA about the situation in their respective countries, and what kinds of strategies they use in their work. What can they learn from each other? And how can Norwegian women’s organizations contribute in the fight?
