Lengre beskrivelse

This workshop will be a condensed version of the "Latin American School of Digital Activism," which is currently being conducted by Fundación Ciudadano Inteligente (Smart Citizen Foundation - Santiago, Chile) across Latin America as part of their work with their network of activists. FCI will lead the workshop and provide practical tools for those who have some experience with digital tools, but not necessarily training in creating, executing, adjusting, and measuring collective digital activism campaigns that aid real social changes. The workshop arrives at a time in which civil society actors have to adjust, in the long term, to restrictions of the civic space brought by COVID-19. Demonstrations, assemblies, and even freedom of movement will be affected for a long time. As this accelerates the adoption and naturalization of online public discussions and decision-making, vast sectors of the population who are offline or have trouble accessing the Internet, and are already excluded from political and economic power, are being permanently left out. This workshop is created in solidarity with those with unequal access to digital tools during these changing times. The goal is the train a new wave of digital activists to face the unexpected consequences of the economic and social crisis already brewing, strengthening civil society as a whole, and allowing for better civic mobilization that can channel unrest in ways that are effective and do not put populations at risk.
